What are APT.line™ preheating technology, forced convection, and natural convection?

APT.line™ technology stands for "Advanced Preheating Technology".

The APT.line™ concept is a unique heating system that ensures uniform temperature distribution inside the chamber. This technology also ensures extremely fast recovery times on BINDER chambers.

APT.line™ forced convection – Classic.Line

APT.line forced convection technology (with fan) introduces the air stream into the preheating jacket, where it is heated by electrical heating elements. The heated air stream enters the inner chamber horizontally through both inner side walls. The forced convection fan then draws this air stream back into the preheating jacket, repeating the circulation cycle. This specific airflow ensures the highest temperature uniformity and accuracy, shortened recovery times, and faster heating rates.

APT.line™ natural convection – Classic.Line

In natural convection APT.line technology, there is no fan, unlike forced convection with the same technology. The U-shaped heating elements inside the preheating jacket heat precisely to the set temperature. The jacket ensures internal uniformity, allowing warm air to circulate gently inside the chamber.

New APT.line™ technology – Avantgarde.Line

The new APT.line technology was developed, optimized, and launched on the market under the name Avantgarde.Line in close cooperation with the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.

Avantgarde.Line forced convection

In the Avantgarde.Line, the heating element is placed between the chamber wall and the rear fan, accompanied by an air jacket gasket; this specially engineered design gives BINDER chambers superior thermal performance. Airflow is introduced into the interior through perforations in the rear wall. This heats the sides and causes the chamber interior to heat up very rapidly. This new airflow concept ensures more stable air distribution within the chamber, thereby improving internal spatial temperature distribution, enhancing recovery times, and maximizing temperature accuracy.

Thanks to a powerful high-speed fan and a wide range of timer functions, Avantgarde.Line forced convection chambers achieve excellent temperature uniformity. This technology is particularly suitable for samples requiring rapid drying.
