Binder Smart Vacuum Drying Oven – Outstanding Technological Innovation Launched in 04.2020

The demand for vacuum drying chambers is growing, and BINDER is notably the only manufacturer in its field capable of supplying proven explosion-proof vacuum drying chambers. To meet customer demands and maintain high quality standards at the forefront of technology, BINDER recently decided to make its vacuum drying chamber series even more innovative and advanced. The company's product developers then went to work and created a genuine masterpiece: the new VD and VDL vacuum drying ovens, officially launched in 01/04/2020.

A typical example of the features in the new VD and VDL vacuum drying chambers is the new controller. However, customers also have the option of a touchscreen display, which can simultaneously show actual pressure and temperature values. This effectively allows users to view the chamber's ongoing process stages at any time. The new vacuum drying chambers also automatically control and activate the drying function once the unit reaches safe conditions. This function automatically determines the end of the drying process and vents to equalize pressure upon completion.

Special features of the new VD and VDL vacuum drying ovens

  • Vacuum pressure is set directly on the oven controller rather than via the pump as with previous models. This improvement provides better control over operation and handling of customized drying processes.
  • An advanced digital pressure display enables customers to accurately monitor and control the drying process.
  • Monitor the drying process with an automatic ventilation system – users can see at a glance whether the process is complete (door can be opened immediately as normal pressure is reached).
  • The VD vacuum drying chamber is equipped with the RD4 digital controller, optionally upgradable to the MB2 touch controller.
  • The VDL vacuum drying chamber is equipped with the MB2 touch controller.
  • Data recording and readout in open format via USB.
  • Wider temperature range from ambient temperature +10°C to 220°.
  • BINDER VAP 1 and VAP 2 vacuum pumps are designed for a perfect fit.

In addition, the VDL vacuum drying chamber offers extra features:

  • VDL complies with the latest ATEX standards, making it one of the safest ATEX-compliant chambers on the market.
  • No need to set the temperature safety device anymore. This saves time and improves (EX) safety.
  • Temperature range: ambient temperature +10°C to 110°C (VDL 23, 56) and 105°C (VDL 115).
  • Solutions with an extended temperature range up to 180°C will be customized by BINDER INDIVIDUAL (the solvent range is then limited to ATEX temperature classes T1 and T2; standard: T3).

Why use a BINDER vacuum drying chamber?

  • Vacuum drying requires no high temperatures
  • Vacuum drying requires no high air velocity
  • Vacuum drying can achieve absolute dryness.
