Today, Hoa Viet would like to introduce to our valued customers the Master-Honey dedicated refractometer series from Atago, Japan – a modern measuring instrument that allows rapid testing of water content (from 12-30%) and Brix (58-90%) in honey, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
Strict Export Standards of the International Market
Major export markets such as the US and Europe have very strict requirements for honey quality, with standards including:
- Water content not exceeding 18.5%
- Reducing sugar not less than 65%
- Sucrose not more than 5% (can be tested via C13 isotope method)
- Ash not more than 1%
- Free acid not exceeding 40 meq/kg
- Amylase (diastase) not less than 3 Gothe degrees
- HMF (Hydroxymethylfurfural) not more than 20 mg/kg
In addition, honey with low moisture content is often preferred because it minimizes the risk of fermentation during storage. The standard safe moisture level for honey is currently around 18.6%.
